Examination and consultation

Dental implants are available for all adult patients. Dental implantation is one of the most trusted treatment methods in medicine – the success rate for treatment is 96-99%.

The success of the treatment is influenced (but not limited to) by the patient’s oral hygiene, the thickness of the gums and the amount / quality of the jaw bone, smoking, diseases such as diabetes and osteoporosis, radiotherapy, doctor’s experience and the quality of the implant itself.

During the consultation, the patient is examined, an X-ray photograph is taken, an agreed treatment plan (step-by-step, aesthetic expectation and finance) is given, the date of implantation is given.

Implantation procedure

Dental implantation is done quickly – one implant is to be inserted on average in 20-30 minutes. Dental implantation is not painful, local anesthesia is sufficient, anesthesia is not used. After implantation, a short antibiotic course may be given, a small short-term swelling, a small pain in the operated area may be given.

Often, implants can be taped right after tooth extraction – this is called single implant implantation. Sometimes a temporary crown can be applied immediately. The possibility of this operation depends not on the implant but on the patient’s individual situation. Each time the doctor determines the appropriateness of such a methodology and the potential risks / benefits. Increasingly, an additional surgical guide (plastic plate) is used for surgery, which allows you to accurately plan the position of the implant and perform the surgery more quickly.

Healing and the wearing of temporary crowns and / or gum formation

The implant is absorbed within 4-12 weeks, the thread is removed after a week. If the jaw bone is missing, a bone enlargement procedure, which is very similar to implantation, is performed quickly, painlessly and reliably, very often and at the same time with implantation. In the case of bone enlargement, healing lasts for 6-9 months.

Attaching a new tooth

Implant implant is implanted with a crown. Depending on the treatment method chosen, the patient may be offered to apply temporary crowns or to wait for permanent ones. To make a crown, you need to remove the toothprint, make submissions, and form a gum profile. The crown on the implants will be made by the dental technician. Depending on the material chosen (plastic, metal ceramics, glass ceramics, zirconia ceramics), the technology of production and technical experience will depend on the aesthetic view of the crown, service life and price.

Regular care

Dental implants, as well as self-care, require regular care and visits to the dentist and oral hygienist.
